Well, since you asked... :-)

I'm a software architect. I'm programming computers since I was 7, and still not tired of playing Lego with bits and bytes, trying to build complexity without complication.

I'm a GO player. I learned to sketch out strategies with a rough framework first, then filling it out in small steps. Also, to interlock stratagems when possible.

I'm haiku poet. I like to keep things simple, small and effective. It often takes a surprising amount of effort to make something simpler, but it's usually worth it.

I'm an option trader, a merchant of risk. I think hard and long about hedging the different types of risks, but I know that in the end, one has to take some.

I have a grasp of economics. I can read the three kinds of financial statements, addicted to cash flow calculations, and like to figure out what different parts of a project worth.

I'm a practicing meditator. I believe that it's hard to grow if you don't have enough time to reflect on what you know or what you need to learn. Also, some training in concentration is a big help in daily life.

I used to compete in off-road navigation trials. I learned that an oblique approach works better against problems with too many unknowns, and even the most elaborate plans must often change.
