I am the rare tech guy who loves sales people. I consider technology and sales to be the two sides of the same coin called the IT industry.
Without your sales, we programmers would be confined to the premises of research centers. Without our technology, you would be selling frozen food, or used cars, or whatnot; but selling technology is more fun, isn't it? You get to sell to more high-end people, to bigger companies, and earn more commission.
I sometimes do some sales, but I'm much better with computers. So I'll leave that part to others like you, who excel at it. I'll concentrate on delivering the service to our shared customer.
I offer referral fees to anyone who brings in work to my consulting business or to the enterprises I'm involved in. (More info under "About me / Projects").
To keep the math simple and the misunderstandings nonexistent, the referral fee is 15% of the business value (total incoming money without VAT), of the whole first year of me or my ventures working together with the client you introduced us to. This way there are no arguments about costs, profits, subcontractors, etc.
The fee is paid to you from every money arriving from the client within 365 days of the referral. No upper limit whatsoever.
